Marcel Wanders is a dutch designer and art director at the Powerhouse studio in Amsterdam, who designs architectural, interior and industrial projects.
Marcel Wanders became worldwide recognized with his iconic Knotter Chair which was produced for Drogs Design, in 1996.
This chair was a remarkable work that resulted from the combination of high tech materials with low tech production methods. That exquisite furniture piece was entitled as “little miracle”.
Marcel Wanders believes in the importance of materials—what they can do, how they are produced, and how they are processed. This enables him to create delicate and light objects as though technology were second nature for humans.
In 2001 Marcel Wanders co-funded the successful design label Moooi, of which he is also the art designer.

Marcel Wanders works with a wide variety of international clients such as Flos, Alessi, Puma, MAC Cosmetics, Swarovski, B&B Italia, and so many other notorious brands.
Therefore, many Marcel Wanders designs have been selected for design collections and exhibitions and features in prestigious magazines. Consequently, in 2006 he was elected International Designer of the Year by Elle Décor.
